Students were introduced to our Spanish class. We have practiced our Spanish greeting and will continue learning it by repetition. We have discussed what it means. They enjoyed learning the words and actions to the song linked above. They introduced me to the book "Gotta Go! Gotta Go!" I was so excited to see and hear this book since the miracle of the Monarch Butterflies flying to and from Mexico is something I teach in the older grades. In the past we have also released Monarchs that I found and raised as caterpillars. "Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go to Mexico!" was a phrase they got stuck in my head! I recommend watching the book video. It takes the miracle of science and puts it in very simple understandable terms. We learned about our class's birthday celebration traditions and celebrated 2 September birthdays.
