It is with much excitement that Regis Catholic Schools announces the kick-off of a gymnasium renovation project on the Regis campus. It is hard to believe that our facility on Fenwick Avenue is now a 70-year-old building which, for the most part, has held up extremely well. However, it is time for the gymnasium to get some much-needed updates.
The primary need is to replace the original gymnasium flooring. Other updates in this project will include new bleachers, scoreboards, humidity controls, floor-to-ceiling paint, and backboards.
The Diocese of La Crosse recently approved the project and over spring break, we were able to start the initial phase of removing old materials, such as the bleachers. The bulk of the renovation work will take place over the summer months.
This project is 100% donor funded. No money will be spent from the Regis Catholic Schools operational budget. We are truly grateful for the group of volunteers who are spearheading the fundraising effort. Thank you for your support! Please watch your mailboxes for the latest issue of the Rambler Report in the coming weeks, which will include more information on how you can financially support our efforts.
This gymnasium project joins the list of other improvements made on the Regis campus in recent years. In 2017, we installed the field turf and made other improvements to our outdoor space; in 2021, we expanded and renovated the cafeteria; and in 2023, we completely renovated every classroom and the library on the 2nd floor of the building. We express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Regis Catholic Schools Foundation and the many generous businesses and individual donors who have made these projects possible. The Regis campus may be seven decades old, but we are excited to prepare it for the next seven decades and beyond.
